The Feasts of the LORD and their Prophecy
Each feast shows forth God's plan of the ages with some already fulfilled and some still to come
Leviticus 23:37 These are the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations[1], to offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:
The very first thing I noticed about the feasts was that they are not Jewish, they are the feasts of the LORD. Then next thing was that convocations means a rehearsal, which is what we have already seen in many things of the Old Testament where God was giving a foreshadowing of what was going to happen. These feasts are a fascinating study whether or not a person decides to keep them or not because each one points to a particular time in the life and works of Christ. If you are interested in prophecy then you should really study these feasts. While we could devote an entire bool to each one I will attempt to keep it brief leaving the reader to explore these further should they so wish.
A word to the wise here in that we should not be concerned with the rites and rituals that have been added by rabbis or Pharisees down through the ages, but only focus on what the word of God says. Too many people get caught up in wanting to be ‘Jewish’ and celebrate these feasts as the Jews do but if we do not have Jesus in these feasts then they are null and void. Jesus is the focus for each one both in the Old and New Testaments which you will see clearly by the end of this section.
