Frequently Asked Questions
Often people have questions about our ministry or church and so we have tried to answer many of them here. If you have a specific question about the ministry please feel free to contact us.
Are you an IFB church?
No, we are non-affiliated with any board, school or fellowship. We do not classify ourselves as IFB.
Are you associated with Liberty University in Virginia?
No, we are not. Pastor Strachan obtained his doctorates through Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Michigan which is a local church based Bible College and is in no way associated with Liberty University.
Are you Ruckmanites?
No, we are not. We believe that the KJV is the best choice in English but also study Greek and Hebrew. We do not believe in the double inspiration of the KJV nor do we hold it higher than the original texts.
Are you KJVO?
We do use the KJV as our only English translation but KJVO means that you do not use any Greek or Hebrew and that non-English speakers must learn English and read the KJV. We believe that God is able to preserve His word in any language.
Do you believe that all other versions are corrupt?
Anything translated from the Westcott and Hort text will certainly be corrupt as the text is already corrupted by leaving out verses and changing doctrines. This is where the JWs NWT comes from as well as some other modern versions.
Are you dispensationalists?
No, while we do recognise different ages in the Bible where God gave commandments that do not apply to other times such as to Noah, Abraham, Israel or the NT Church, we do not believe in dispensations. The word dispensation in the Bible means administration or stewardship not a period of time.
Do you believe in healing?
Yes, we believe and can testify that God still heals when we pray in Jesus' name
Are you part of the Baptist Union or a Mission board?
No, we are a completely independent, self governing, self funding, autonomous local church. We have never been a part of any board or union.
Do you believe you need to keep the law to be saved?
Absolutely not! No one can be saved just by keeping the law. One must be saved through grace by faith thanks to the blood of Jesus Christ. We do believe that a person, once they are saved should live a righteous and separated life by observing the things God has told us to and shunning the things He has told us to avoid.
Do you believe in once saved always saved?
Yes we do but I would recommend reading "The book of life and OSAS" in the Bible Studies page to get a complete answer to this question as there are many misunderstandings about this doctrine.
